Intermediate Instructor: Technology and Presentation Tools (Online/Remote 06/03/2021)

This 8-hour course is to expand and develop the current instructor’s presentation abilities.  Our training is not stagnant and needs to be reviewed and continuously updated to ensure the best training possible for the student.  We must also ensure that the training is student-centered and involve the student to increase material comprehension.  Instructor Technology and Presentation Tools will help the instructor design or redesign their presentations to allow for presentation onsite or online and increase student participation.  Students will learn how to create the most effective slides in different formats like PowerPoint, Prezi, and KeyNote for facilitation.  They will learn and refine skills for onsite training and interaction with the students and learn and refine skills to present in an online format using several of the more popular training platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

This hands-on course is designated for the instructors with the basic skills necessary to present and have some experience in either the onsite or online platforms.  Through interactive activities, the students will prepare and facilitate their creations, which will then be peer-reviewed and critiqued.  Facilitation design is a collaborative process, and instructors will learn how to review presentations properly.  Lessons in this course will be completed through lectures, facilitated discussion, and hands-on practicum.
