De-escalation: A path to a better resolution (ONLINE/REMOTE 03/27/2023)

Probation Officers, Parole Agent, Correctional Officers, and Jailers routinely respond to scenes or interact with people that are angry or agitated. De-escalation is the greatest tool that any officer, agent, or jailer has to a positive resolution of what could be tenuous situation and could have ended in injury or death. This 8-hour course is designed to equip the officer with the tools needed to understand pertinent laws; duty to act, and in what capacity; methods of effective communication; officer safety and scene management, and mental health. Through lecture, facilitated discussion, and hands-on practicum, students will have an opportunity to explore and apply the lessons learned in this course.

  Student Cancellation Policy: Student cancellations confirmed more than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the class will not be charged for the course. If the course has already been paid for, it will be refunded. For all cancellations received ten (10) or less business days before the start of the class will be charged at full price. This late cancellation charge compensates Law Enforcement Training Solutions for the non-refundable costs incurred prior to the start date of the course.
